It would be natural to call the next version of Windows in the chronological order as Windows 9 but Microsoft as chosen it to be Windows 10 as they say that it will be the most comprehensive platform ever. The changes in the Windows 10 is so comprehensive after the failure of Windows 8 among the user that calling it Windows 9 would be unfair.
There were so many issues in Windows 8 that actually Windows 10 is the upgrade of Windows 7 would sound correct.
Cool features of Windows 10:
Windows 10, as said is going to be their most comprehensive platform ever so they have made the user experience even better which suits novice users to the most advanced users.
1. Multitasking in Windows 10:
Productivity among the user is what Windows 10 is aiming for by introducing multitasking which enables user to snap 4 windows or Apps on the interface and working simultaneous on it.
2. Spartan (The web browser). Spartan will replace Internet Explorer as the defaultbrowser of Windows 10. There are three significant features of the
browser Spartan:
1. Note taking mode: Note taking mode is an experience on the web
page of Spartan which allows the user to express their thoughts on the canvas
of the web page. It can be achieved both by using stylus or fingers on the
touch screen or using the keyboard. For example, if an article is noteworthy
and it needed to be shared by expressing your thoughts on the article, you just
need to use your stylus and draw your desired expression like smiley or use the
keyboard and type your thoughts on the article and then save or copy it to clipboard.
Any particular segment on the canvas can be selected or the whole page can be
saved in this mode. To select a segment on the web page to copy to clipboard or
save, clipping tool which is positioned on the top of the browser is
selected and the desired action is done. But if that segment is to be shared
then the browser provides the system’s built-in system which can share that
segment on the social media sites like Facebook, Twitter or you can email it.
2.
Standardization of reading experience:
One
of the coolest features of the browser Spartan is enhancing the reading
experience of the users on the web which in turn results in increase in the
productivity of people on the web. Spartan provides the user with the reading
mode which gives standardized format of the web page you are looking at,
which helps people to read the article more effectively. User can even
personalize this to their like. Spartan also provides the user with the option
to add items to their reading list. The reading list provides user with
core browsing experience. User can save the content on the reading list and
save it offline. To support the broadest set of content online Spartan has
built-in support for PDF. User can mark it up in the note taking mode and then
save it offline.
3.
Personal assistant:
Productivity
on the web increases even more when Cortana is built into Spartan. Cortana will
show up at the right opportune moment to get things done for the user. Cortana
will pop up even without prompting when a user searches for simple situations

behavior it can help in more interesting and surprising ways while browsing on
Spartan.

Microsoft has introduced a new feature in Windows 10
called multiple desktops which is one of the coolest features of Windows 10.
Multiple desktops feature enables the user to create as many virtual desktops
as desired for keeping their work organized. Multiple desktops can have
multiple apps open in them. Multiple desktops feature is called ‘Task view’ in
Windows 10.
How
Multiple desktops works?
Multiple
desktops icon is located next to the start menu and search icon on the taskbar.
When pressed, ‘Add a desktop’ prompt appears with a plus sign under it or user
can use the keyboard shortcut: WINKEY+CTRL+D and the new desktop are created.
Now you can browse different desktops and open apps in that desktop. Switching
between the desktop can be achieved easily within the task view or you can use
the keyboard shortcuts: WINKEY+CTRL+LEFT ARROW or WINKEY+CTRL+RIGHT ARROW to
switch. You just need to select the thumbnail of the desktop that you desire to
switch to. Closing the desktop is also easy as you just need to select the
thumbnail of the desktop on the task view that you need to close and press the
close tile ‘x’ using mouse. If the user needs to close the current desktop the
keyboard shortcut is WINKEY+CTRL+F4.
It also allows the user to
move the windows or apps from one desktop to another just by right clicking the
window or the app you want to move in the task view and then clicking on the
desired desktop you want to move it to where desktop will be named desktop 1, desktop
2 and so on. But you can still switch between different windows or running apps
on any desktop you are using by using the keyboard shortcut ALT+TAB. When you
close a desktop, any open windows or running apps in that desktop will jump to
other desktop.
